Edexcel English language any teachers?

Have they flipped the language papers? The spec I’m reading is saying paper one is non-fiction but all the resources I’m finding online are fiction texts.

I just checked the spec and paper 1 is fiction. Which spec are you looking at? Is it GCSE or IGCSE as they are not the same.

@clary it’s this one. It looks like it’s an alternative spec they’ve rolled out https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/edexcel-gcses/english-language-2021.html

Oh well that’s confusing eh! Why would they switch? I’d double check with school which one is being sat tbh. But if they’ve supplied your printout then must be that one.

Reading the rationale on the Pearson website is actually quite interesting. I think this spec might actually be better. Thanks for your help!
