Can't decide on School Ranking

My child sat and has met the requirements for Crossley Heath and North Halifax Grammar. They ranked in the low 100's.

The catchment area for where we live is for a School that has been in the national news.

I would like our child to attend a nearby school but we don't live in their catchment area and it's likely to be over subscribed. So would ranking the local school which we don't live in reduce our chances of getting into CH which we know that they will if they rank it no1.

So how is it best I do my ranking?

1. School outside catchment area
2. CH
3. N Halifax

Rank in your true preferred order.
Ranking only comes to play if 2 schools can offer you a place, in which case they give you the higher ranked one.
Make sure you include 1 school you will definitely get into.

You place it in the order your child wishes to go to and you include a school that they will definitely get in
