Inappropriate story by substitute

My year 7 just told me his substitute teacher told a "funny story" in maths.
A previous year 7 pupil used a ruler to measure his private parts and he said it was "very big" the teacher said from my observation it isn't. And then referred to is as big "d".
I am appalled by this story and feel this is really inappropriate and breaks all teacher pupil boundaries.
I'm going to call the headteacher but I wanted to get others opinions as well.

😂
Kid makes inappropriate joke, teacher squashes it with a scathing comment. I'm not sure the head will be terribly interested, he's probably just pleased to have found a supply teacher to take 7B.

Try harder.

Best way to squash inappropriate comments like that is to mildly embarrass the person who made it. It stops them being the big 'I am' in the supply lesson and potentially rerouted poor behaviour that would have disrupted the lesson. It's not quite how I would have dealt with it but the Head won't care, he has a warm body Infront of the maths class

I’m a teacher and I agree with OP that this is inappropriate. Your son clearly told you this story because something felt off about it - it’s not just routine behaviour management. The head at my school would take this very seriously.

I’m a teacher and it is inappropriate. I would tell school.

Yup. Inappropriate. Call the school.
