Depends on your definition of science ... we did the National Cipher Challenge with my DS at that age, but it's maths/coding rather than pure science: https://www.cipherchallenge.org/

Thank you. I’ve signed up for the crest awards but they look quite complicated to manage from home. Less into the maths /coding side but I’ll show him.
I’ve found a British science week poster competition butt that’s not open until next year.

@Curtainpots was it specifically competitions you were interested in, or courses/events too? If the latter, then it's worth signing up to the Royal Institution mailing list. They do some good activities for childrenwithin commuting distance of central London.
