Applying for Secondary School Place. Question about the form

I have no idea if this form is different across different Authorities, I would assume so, but also assume they must be similar.

My child does not need any boxes ticked for looked after, military, SEND, sibling, staff child etc

There seems to be no other place to tick that it's simply the choice we have made and nowhere for the supporting statement like you did for Primary School Applications.

Is this just that then? You just select and don't need to write reasons?

No because it is all done on the criteria, ultimately no one reads the reasons. All the data, ie siblings, address etc is stuck into a database and it spits out the decisions.

Little Jonny loves art and doesn't want to catch the bus makes no difference to the application.

Yeh that's right, it will be decided based on the criteria (usually comes down to distance tbh). All good.

Yes, the LA / admissions authority will just allocate according to the oversubscription criteria. If you are curious you can read the school admissions code.

As above. Ours DOES helpfully remind you if you select a school that requires a separate form (e.g. CofE with faith criteria), that the additional form must be posted directly to the school for it to count.
Don't rely on all systems being the same though!
