Away for JCQ contingency day? Stupid idea?

Does anyone know if the JCQ contingency day is often used? I am also trying to book flights and wanted to book for 24 June (daughter is doing GCSEs) but not sure if it would be stupid to be away for 25th in case it was needed.
It seems such an unlikely event - but my daughter is getting stressed about the idea of being away just in case. Anyone had experience of this being needed?

I don’t know, but I imagine they are very rarely used and therefore it is low risk. However ultimately unless you were prepared to cancel should you need to - and give your daughter that reassurance - then I wouldn’t do it.

Just avoid it.

It's a recent initiative bought in after Grenfell / Ariana Grande concert. Just go the next day.

Thanks all - we’re going to book for the day after!
