DD seems quite chilled and relaxed about year 10 she is excited to start her GCSEs

can’t believe we are at this point

Do any of your DC know what they want to do when they leave school/education?

My son currently hasn’t a clue - although he goes to St John’s Ambulance cadets and is doing his DofE. But I’m not sure how relevant this is now. He intimated an interest in the police the other day… again, how “interested” is anyone’s guess.

Incidentally, I knew what I wanted to do - although don’t do it. 🙄

Animals, but notbsure exactly what though. Shes pretty keen on a certain college at 16 at the moment.
May Vet nurse, maybe zookeeper, maybe something like an animal warden.

The college course includes one day a week work experience at the zoo.

Oh that’s amazing! 😁.

I think I’m going to have to wait and see what my son does. I do think he might go into some kind of emergency service - but we’ll see 🙂

My DD wants to work in childcare. She is just diagnosed adhd and struggles a lot in school. Child development is the only lesson she doesn’t get behaviour points in!

It’s great to see everyone enjoying the summer holidays!

we went away for a week (managed to find cheap ish flights which was nice); had a week at home and I then took dc to visit my family for a week. Finally back home ‘properly’ 😂 but have caught an awful bug now.

i can’t believe ds will be year 10; slightly anxious about it all. His school offer some of the boys the opportunity to do a gcse in year 10- the ones that take the extra one have 11 GCSEs in total. Ds has been selected, I’m happy he has the opportunity but it does mean he’ll need to put his head down to do well.

i do need to sort through uniform to see what we need; it’ll be a last minute rush by the looks of things!

DS has a vague idea of what he wants to study at university (engineering); he was set on maths until my BIL who has maths degree advised against it.

DS says he's interested in working with animals, something like being a zookeeper, but I don't know if that's an idea he'll stick with.
