My son was predicted 9 for all his GCSE and he did achieve 9 apart from igcse English language.
He wants to apply for sciences and aiming for oxbridge/imperial.
He also goes to a highly selective school.

We are appealing and he will resit the English Lge in November.

My main concern is that resits will be frowned upon by competitive unis..
Has anyone been in our situation and got into a good uni with GCSE resits.

What did he get for English Language? If he got 6 or above I'd say there is absolutely no point in resitting if he got 9s in everything else.

i am just worried oxbridge and imperial will not even consider him as its a gcse resit result

Thats not true. If he got all 9s in everything else it's definitely worth him applying. English Language results have been all over the show in the last couple of years.
