He did the 11 plus plus exam and was succesful in passing the 1st stage exam for the sutton selctive eligibility test and was invited for the 2nd stage in which he sat adn got accepted to wallington county grammar school ,sutton grammar school and wilsons school.Unfortunately during his 11 plus his mother had a chance of going blind and was admitted in hospital ,we didnt know that there was CAF form that she had to fill out to list his preferred schools as he was our first child and for the first 1st months of year 6 he didnt have a school as we moved areas so we werent informed of a CAF form.We didnt realise that we had to fill a CAF form until march the 1st when we were expecting to find out the school he got so we had to call the council and they said they would email us back and then later he got an offer for wallington boys .He recently did a mid term entry test for wilsons school, there results are coming this month and we havent received the results yet Recently he had a change of mind and now he is doing the 13 plus for some private schools and is aiming to get a full bursary.

The schools we applied for are

Trinity School
Reigate Grammar School
Dulwich College
Caterham School
Whitgift School
Box Hill School
City of London Freeman's School
St Albans School
Haberdashers Boys School
John Lyon School
The Perse School
Aldenham School

There are some other schools we emailed but haven't yet replied as we have to email every school as we cant afford there registration fees at the moment so we have to show that we get universal creditt and free school meals.I recently had two heart attacks so I cant afford the registration fees for schools. He recently did a mid term entry test for wilsons school as there was a vacancy. The test was on July.

I was wondering if anyone has some 13 plus resources which I can buy or if anyone knows websites with good 13 plus material.

If he is already at Wallington why does he want to move? Each school will have a different 13+ test including Common Entrance but bear in mind deferred entry is increasingly popular so places available now may be limited.

And Box Hill is not particularly academic so may not suit. Do you want traditional gcse/A level or IB as your list is a mixture?

He is in WCGS right now .In our family ,including cousins everyone either goes to Wilsons or a very academic private school so he doesnt want to be like the odd one out.He did the 11 plus for all 3 schools and got in but at that time my wife had something going on with her health and it became hectic and in between of that we forgot about the CAF form.We want a very acadmic school for our son and we want one with the traditiomal gcse and a levels.

I dont get why you'd want to move him from Wallington, just because other family members went to Wilsons or private? I'd understand if Wallington wasn't a great grammar school...does your DS perhaps feel it's academically inferior to Wilsons? Otherwise, is he happy there? If so, you could consider keeping him there until GCSEs then looking at a move to one of the indies you mentioned for 6th form.

Re your original question, I found the past papers from individual schools to be the most useful; followed by learning platforms like bbcbitesize.

Wallington Boy overall results might not match Wilson as it is less selective. However, it remains a selective grammar school that achieves many A*/A grades, with students progressing to Oxbridge and other top universities. Assuming a boy would have neen odd one out just because he isn’t at Wilson or a private school is misguided. It’s better to consider other factors beyond just the school’s name.

Hi ,he feels that wilsons is more academic as he compared the work given with his cousins when they were in year 7.My son also researched about the music facilities at wilsons which are great and overall its a very big school.
We live a less than 5 minute walk away. His mid term entry results came out yesterday evening and now for Year 8 he is going wilsons.Thank you for your help.
