History igcse struggles

one of my twins is struggling with history. He has ADHD, while his sister is a bookworm and natural note taker.

he finds the topics interesting, but often fails to read the material he’s meant to. Can anyone recommend ways of getting the detail across - videos, documentaries, museums even?

in particular, I think he’s looking at post WW1 - WW2 and America in the twenties and thirties.

any history teachers out there that could help? I can’t find any revision books for the CIE course either.

thanks so much.

Or if all the teachers are off on holiday, any parents with advice? Thanks so much

I'm not a history teacher but I do teach secondary Science and a lot of revision strategies are the same. I recommend your son combines reading with podcasts and videos. If you google "iGCSE history revision" you will get a heap of resources.

This one struck me as a decent one www.mrallsophistory.com/revision/revision.html , it has podcasts , transcripts and question and answer sheets.

Thank you. I did try and look online, but there seemed to be little for CIE. I will compare the content and get searching. Spe ifically in that sight. Wish the hyperfixations were still history based, like they were in the past, now it’s all about sport,

Try Seneca website. It has a lot of syllabus specific stuff for igcse.
