Banding test?

Hello,

I'm a bit lost with these banding tests. My DD will be applying for secondary schools in Greenwich. I have looked at some schools and they require some supplementary form for a banding test but for the life of me I can't see the form on their website?

Does anyone know how these tests actually work and are they per school?

They're different for each school.

DD's send out an email to anyone who has them on the CAF with dates to come in and sit them in school. Her's just has NVR as the test.

Others we did had maths, english, NVR and VR and were sat before the application form went in.

it is to even out the intake, they will most likely aim for 25% from band 1, 50% from band 2 and 25% from band 3.

I wish we had a chance for Leigh but we are 6 km away lol.

@EllyGi the Leigh Academy form looks to also be for Halley and Stationer Crowns as well if they are on your radar. Is it then just Harris after that? I know Thomas Tallis, Eltham Hill and John Roan don't use them.

@PoetryPlease Thank you! this is the exact list of schools, yes :) Crown Wood, Harris and Halley. :) I checked the Crown wood site multiple times and just can't find it! But if its the same form it makes sense then! I guess I can fill it in and sent it to the respective schools as the tests are different or it's just 1 test (well 2 I guess one for Harris and one for Leigh Academy)?

I did hear of a parent who got a tutor her child for the banding test. When the child took the test their score fell just into the middle range which was most over subscribed. Another child known to the family did no prep for the test and got a score in the lower ability range and got a place easily because that year that band was undersubscribed.
