Yondr pouches

DC's school have announced that they will be adopting a stricter no mobile policy and to implement the use of these yondr pouches for all phones coming into site from September.

Has one else's schools used these to restrict use of mobiles in schools. My concern is how they will be monitored, and policed. Both my DC's have looked up how to open them so imagine a number of other will or already do the same.

Use them at my DCs school- seems to work fine.

there are lots of ways round them. My kids are experts

My kids school is also bringing them in and the kids already claim they have the magnets to open them. But I guess it makes it harder for kids to be on phones all day so not too bad. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

@parietal thats what I think, no doubt it will be tested some and others will play the system at any schools.

As well as cracking them open with magnets I’ve heard that some kids get two phones and put a dummy phone (or even a wooden cut out phone!) in the Yondr pouch. All that said, schools who’ve gone down this route seem to claim they have had noticeable
improvements in concentration/bullying etc. I guess the really determined will always find a way but it probably does work for most pupils.
