Hi,
Can somebody please help me understand what is KS3 EBACC exams at the end of the year 9 and what does that mean for the students. Also if all subjects are tested or just the compulsory one they test. Thanks

sounds like its a local thing, so you best bet is to ask the school

I have never heard of those.
It sounds like school specific exams rather than "official" ones.

@Needmorelego its a grammar school. At primary , for KS2 exams she was given a lot of work to do during Easter and hated it .

Yeh this is not a national or public exam like SATs or GCSEs. Sounds like something set by the school? When I was at school (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) we had exams in every subject in January and June, right from year 7. Hard to imagine now tbh. Tho ofc all schools will carry out assessments - but it is done IME in a more relaxed way.

Is this exam to assess children's suitablilty to take ebacc subjetcs for GCSE @Tubelight ? Tho a) it's a bit late to be deciding KS4 options and b) if this is a grammar school everyone should be capable of passing GCSE French.

I think you need to ask the school for more info. Seems reasonable to do so if the child is not sure what subjects need to be revised.
