Hi all, relocating to Watford to start new job at Watford General, have rented a house close to it, have 15 yrd old gal and 12 yrs old boy and wondering which school is better amongst Croxley green and Westfield. Both won't be far. Also it's less likely that they would get admission to Watford Grammar atp this stage, is nt it? Thanks

Do you know that there are places available for both of them at both schools, to be choosing from? From your 15 year old's point of view, I'd go with the one which better matches her GCSE options, set texts etc. Presumably you have moved too far for her to be able to complete her GCSEs at her old school?

Given the choice, I’d definitely go for Croxley Danes. It’s very popular locally and has a good reputation. Run by the same trust as Clement Danes in Chorleywood which is a very oversubscribed and successful school. I’ve only heard positive things about Croxley Danes.

I’ve heard better things about Westfield more recently, but it’s had a poor reputation in the past. I hope someone with recent actual experience will be able to tell you more.

If there’s spaces at both, arrange to visit both with your children and see which one feels like a better fit.
