Have read on here that the post GCSE kids are getting their provisional licenses. Why so soon? Am I missing something? Can they start driving now or do they have to wait until 17? What is the advantage of getting it at 15 yrs 9 months? Thanks

It’s handy as it’s an easy proof of age, smaller and cheaper than a passport. Ds went to a festival aged 16 and needed to prove his age. Or for buying 16+ things like ibuprofen (is that 16?).
