Secondary school offer

My twins didn’t get they first choice secondary school
So we appeal on the 10th may we got a call from the school admissions saying we don’t have to go thought with the appeals as the LA have made a mistake with the distance from out house to the school
So we was over the moon and accepted both places
I went down to the school today as I haven’t received a welcome pack from the school and all the other parents I no have received one
The school have turn round to me and said that the school can’t take the twins as they have no spaces left
And to speak to the school admission
I have email the school admission today and hopefully will get a reply soon
But can they do this to us
Offer us a place then take it away from us

Once a place has been offered and accepted, it can only be taken away if it was offered in error or if your application was fraudulent or deliberately misleading. It sounds like the school want to argue that the places were offered in error. However, it is nearly a month since the places were offered and accepted. It is now far too late for them to withdraw the offer. And, as the LA have admitted there was a mistake and your twins should have been offered a place initially, the school should take them even though they are already full up to PAN.
