Just wondering if anyone has any recent reviews of this school.
Recommendations or otherwise?
Thank you

My knowledge is out of date, as my youngest is now of first year uni age and my knowledge is pre-pandemic.

We looked round both Mountbatten and Romsey for both my DDs, 6 years apart.

Both are good schools with good reputations in the town.

At the time mine were at school the two schools though superficially similar had different ethos and emphasis and I think if you are considering one it is well worth looking at the other too to do a compare and contrast.

We went for Romsey and were very happy with it, for a slightly more relaxed feel, whole child centred, and excellent pastoral care and were not disappointed.

There is always a bit of movement between the two, and the impression I get is the Heads cooperate on things where needed.

@damnedifyoudodammedifyoudont I can also PM you my more detailed impressions of MB if you are interested, but as I said they are a little old.

Thanks your first response was helpful. We also have older friends / family that went through but I sense a lot of change so was wondering about current opinions.

I think it very much depends on your child. If they are rule followers & academic, it's great I'm sure. If they are still a bit immature & aren't fully motivated it can seem really strict & draconian. Uniform policy is super strict. Any SEN issues cause real challenges, lip service paid, in reality not much changes. But probably short staffed like most schools. Apparently lots of vacancies to be filled.
