Hello lovely mums,

Please can you share your experience about Sutton Grammar school, we are on waiting list but would like to know how the school really is, apart from good grades is pastoral care good, are children given good support, do we need additional tution and are children able to cope the environment. Anything you can share your own experience which can help us decide between WCGS and Sutton. We will have to relocate from different county so will appreciate all your help. Thank you

My son is in y7 at Sutton grammar and I've been really impressed with the pastoral support. He doesn't seem to get any more homework than his primary friends who went to the local comprehensive (works out about 30 minutes a day) and is doing fine without extra tutoring - although he is very bright and got in with minimal tutoring beforehand.

Thank you for sharing your experience it is assuring that you and your son both are satisfied with the school. Does teacher support all the children in class and I have heard many parents saying if you can't cope there could be consequences.

The support my son is getting is on the pastoral side (for issues unrelated to school), but he says he gets feedback on his homework and can ask the teacher if he doesn't understand something. At the parents meeting they did talk a bit about SEN support but it's not something my son needs so can't comment on that.

Thank you, which year does your child do in?
