What should I do?

My DC sat a number of entrance exams including a musical aptitude test for a secondary school last year. All of the schools provided an email with her score and a chart showing the lowest scores offered a place in previous years.
However I have just realised that for one of the schools a 'rank' rather than a score was provided! My DC received a rank of 29, and the lowest ranks offered a position were between 40- 50. I totally misinterpreted this email and did not preference this school on her CAF as I believed that her 'score' of 29, was too low to be offered a place looking at the historic values!!!!
I have now spoken to the Admissions manager for the school who explained that the 29 was not my DCs score but it was their ranking and if I had preferenced this school on the CAF she would have been offered a place.
I am absolutely kicking myself and would love for my DC to attend this school. Is there anything I can do? Or is it too late? I am so stressed out

Wouldn’t the admissions manager who you spoke to be able to help with your query?

Get on the waiting list. Because she's got a high score, she might be right at the very top so she's got a better chance at being offered a place when one opens up.

I've emailed the Admissions Manager outlining everything. Hopefully she gets back to me soon.

Speak to the admissions team at your local authority about adding the school as a preference / late application.
