I have to attend an interveiw to discuss the placing request I have for my DS, I wasn't expecting this I just they would say yes or no. What will they be asking me? what do they want to know and what will increase his chances of getting the place?

who is the interview with?

I imagine if the school if full the Head will be arguing why they don't want your ds, and you will be arguing why he should have a place there. Depending on what their entry criteria is, eg distance from the school, intelligence, aptitude in sport/music, you have to argue how suitable he would be.

Depends on what the interview is for, it could be just a getting to know you chat, on the other hand, I have an appeal hearing sometime in May probably and its with an appeals panel and some parents have said its like being in court.

Not quite sure who it is with. It is the council buildings. I didn't thinkthey could select pupils by performance.

If that is the case he should be OK as his results are really good. I don't want to go in and have to do the single parent sob story but I will if it gets him a place.

Its not because its a fancy school or anything, its actually closer than the school he is supposed to go to, it is in the town where all his after school activities are, wheras the other school is in a small town futher away from all his activites and any job opportunities for me. But... I do think it is a more academic school better suited to his abilities.
