@PC0822 I suggest you use the Advanced Search feature to find the many recent threads on this, and read through as many as possible. Then if you have specific questions about your own case you could ask them.

Can you explain your situation and why you want to appeal?

In a nutshell, you need to show either that:

  • a mistake was made and you should have got a place
Or -That the school isn't full Or -That although the school is full, your child is so in need of a place that it outweighs any difficulty that giving the place would cause the school.

My daughter is offered school in different county but we want in kent . She passed the Kent cut off score test but English standardized score is less by 2 marks so want to appeal to specific school so want to know the inside process what can be the appeal codes that help us.

So you are presumably appealing for a kent grammar school.

You have 2 elements you are appealing against -

  • underqualification - your daughter didn't get the required score in English to pass the test. You need to show that she is in fact performing at the required standard - you need evidence from school of her performance levels in English. If there was a reason on the day she didn't perform, you would need evidence of this too.
  • oversubscription - you then need to show that the detriment to her of not attending is greater than the detriment to the school of taking another pupil. What does this school offer that is specific to her needs? Just wanting a grammar school education won't be enough - you need reasons specific to her as to why this school.
