Grammar V Comprehensive School

Hi,

My daughter has some SEN. She passed her Medway tests and got an offer at Rochester Grammar School. I am nervous that she may not be able to cope up with the academic levels at a Grammar school and it will dent her confidence. Also we live quite far from the school with coach travel each side. I wanted to check if someone whose child goes to Rochester Grammar School can share their experience with respect to the homework the school gives. Also how much time does the child need to devote each day to finish the homework.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

In my experience, grammar schools have a lot fewer children with SEN, and so a lot more time and input for each one

Grammar schools have fewer children with SEN so the extra funding that comes with each one of them will be very welcome. I’m sure they make sure she doesn’t leave the school.

If you start at the Grammar and it doesn't work out for whatever reason, it is easy to leave. Much easier than changing your mind and trying to join a grammar later

If you are interested in people' experiences of Rochester Grammar in particular, I'd suggest you start a new thread with the name of the school mentioned in the title.
