Disciplined school

Hi

does anybody have any experience into schools which are very much disciplined e.g) single file corridor, no speaking in corridor, family dining at lunch with teacher and each student has a task eg bringing cutlery, detentions for ink running out in class or turning to look at clock etc etc.

i havent had experience of this - but my school years ago was disciplined - mayb a bit less - but i really enjoyed it. And i feel discipline is good - but some reviews i read say these schools are like army and child lose their individuality.

what are your experiences plz? X

No way would I have wanted my DD to go to a school like that. Children who are treated with respect give respect back. This is not the way to go about things.

Yes - i feel schools need to balance fun and education. I dont feel children will benefit from a very strict school environmemt. Yes there should be rules - but not to the extent where it feels like a military school.

I am assuming you are referring to MCS school as the lunch scenario you mentioned is exactly what they do. My child got an offer and will be starting in September. We both liked it when we went to visit at the open day. I can post back in 1 year to let you know thoughts then!
