Appeal while moving house

Hi everyone!
I am currently going through a house sale where me, my husband and my 10 year old daughter are moving towns.
We are only in the process of selling so do not have an address in the area where I want her to go to secondary school.
I applied for secondary school and put down 2 schools in the area we will be moving.
One school is close to the new address we are moving to, so made that option 1.
Today we have received the offer and it is for another school in the town but a 45 min walk away from the new house.
I want to appeal and try for the first choice school but, as we have not exchanged or completed yet, I am incredibly anxious about whether they would accept the appeal.
We are hoping to exchange in May (which would mean putting her in a local junior school) but obviously can’t guarantee that.
Any advice regarding how to go about this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Your appeal will be heard. Where you live is not an issue at appeal. What matters is whether you can show that the disadvantage to your daughter from not being admitted outweighs any issues the school will face from having to cope with an additional pupil.
