Bishops Stortford or Hitchin

I know I have left it late but I have now made the decision to potentially move to BS or Hitchin.
Can I please have your views on the following schools for my son who is looking for a place in year 7. Would really appreciate some support. Please feel free to add any other necessary information.

Is your son in year 7 now or looking for a year 7 place? I don’t know this area (sorry) but if the latter, and you move soon, he will be considered as a late applicant - while if he is in yr 7 now, it’s which school has a space tbh.
