Does anyone know if or when the FHSS 11+ waitlist usually moves?

Hello, I had just posted on a different thread that we declined a place from FHSS this morning. Not sure how much they over offer, but I'd imagine there will be some movement after half term. Fingers crossed your daughter gets a spot.

It does move eventually...but it takes time. You can look at the last years thread to see. It eventually moves and people will start to post WL spots have opened.

We are also on WL for FHSS and keeping everything crossed for a place🤞good luck to your DD too!

My daughter was on the wl last year, we called and emailed and wrote letters and still did not manage to secure a spot. However last year might have been more difficult because they ranked highly in the times list in 2023. This year it is back to its normal spot. In the end she went to her second choice and is so happy and loved it and I am really glad she ended up at the school she is at.

I know of at least two children planning on turning down a place at FHSS.

@ItsMeHi48 6 girls in my daughters’ prep school turned down places and still didn’t convert to an offer for us. Not to discourage you, keep calling and emailing, but I would also look seriously at your alternatives and try to get your daughter excited about them.

@ItsMeHi48 We seem to be in the same exact boat! I read a discouraging bit of hearsay, that FH’s offer rate down to such an exact science that they only end up taking one or two off the waitlist. Does anyone here know if that’s true?

@HydePark13 no, nothing here. Thinking I might phone Monday or Tuesday to see what they can tell us if anything. Are you waiting on others too or is FHSS “the one”? 🤞

@ItsMeHi48 DD has two other offers, but FHSS was definitely first choice. I’m not impressed with the girls from DD’s school who did receive offers (TikTok/SnapChat obsessed and bullies) and so I feel like it might be a blessing in disguise if it doesn’t work out.

Assuming we won’t hear anything until next week but anyone been getting any responses or indication of how things are looking WL wise as FHSS?

My daughter is also in the waiting list. We moved recently, so everything is different for us and, my confess, disappointingly no transparent…
does anyone know how many girls are in the waiting list and if someone was already called?

@3PTg good luck to your DD. As far as I can tell, no movement to wait list as yet for FHSS and probably unlikely to before deadline day of 5 March. They did tell me that the wait list isn’t just a ranking of girls (no idea how many on there) but slightly more complicated because they want to ensure the right mix going into year 7… interpret that as you will 🤷🏻‍♀️

FYI, the WL from FHSS has moved on monday already so might be worth calling the school to find out.

Does anyone know how big is the class in Y7 and is it still two classes per year? Thanks!

I know someone was offered a place two years ago just a few hours before they handed in their deposit for another school!

@HydePark13 oh that is so lovely of you! Well I’m delighted to report that on Friday at 4:30pm we received a call from FHSS with an offer!! Accepted, deposit paid, place confirmed so we’re all set and couldn’t be happier. DD is ecstatic and so excited for September. Thank you for all the support and good vibes💖
