LU email for us came out 20 mins ago

Congratulaitons !! so i iguess that confirms that they send it over batches over the entire day since others got it 11.06am?

what is the first letter of the surname please just to see if the laphabetical order has any reference?

farfallarocks · 09/02/2024 12:31

Anyone got an email from St John’s? Post has arrived with nothing in it from them.

minipie · 09/02/2024 12:31

Agree absolutely morningt0n about releasing offers you are sure you won’t take, to help those on WL.

And if anyone has applied for state but will now definitely choose a private offer, it would be good to withdraw your state application (ideally before 1 March when state offers go out). Although I just logged on to our council website and can’t see an easy way to do this…

swlondon24 · 09/02/2024 12:42

just received Ibstock offer

Peachskin22 · 09/02/2024 12:45

Hi received offer from Kew House

MrsEverdeen · 09/02/2024 12:49

@Marylebonedad congrats to your DD on fantastic results. In the past two years, most people on SHHS and CLSG waitlists got offers. Advocate and if you’re at a prep, ask your school to advocate too.

Agreed re NHEHS and FHRP. Both schools are great and produce excellent results. Also think about where DD cohorts would live, and how easy it is for DD to get there and back on early mornings, after school events etc. Both are very happy schools and produce excellent results - your two WL schools too.

Congrats to your DD and all the best.

Mothernearest · 09/02/2024 12:53

We’ve got an offer from Ibstock but a waiting list place from Emanuel sadly. It’s our first choice. Any insights into Emanuel waiting list movements? Do we keep any hopes?

Shivvyshiv · 09/02/2024 12:53

We received an offer via the post and no email. I know St J follow up with an email at the end of the day. So hopefully you will hear then, if the post has let you down today!

farfallarocks · 09/02/2024 12:56

Thanks @Louise78100 !
Emanuel sounds super tough this year. Lots of dd’s mates getting offers at Dulwich and kings and Jags and not there.

Wondermumof4 · 09/02/2024 12:58

Yes Ibstock place are out just got an offer as well 🙂one more to go😅

ItisaBeautifulLife · 09/02/2024 13:10

Aamums · 09/02/2024 13:10

Hampton 13+ also just out.

londonlady2023 · 09/02/2024 13:11

Thanks @Louise78100 !

It's quite perplexing, DD got offers for JAGS, Wimbledon High, Streatham and Alleyn's but "on waiting list" for Emanuel...

She didn't find the Emanuel exam tough and thought JAG's (ISEB), Wimbledon and Alleyn's was a bit more taxing.

I just found St Dunstans offer in my junk folder. A yes for dd!
many congrats to all those yes’s so far and hope waiting lists move for others!!

Good to check junk folders!

First of all, congrats on the offers.
A couple of thoughts on Emanuel

  • they over offered last year at 10+ and offered deferrals ... so they have quite a few (maybe as much as a full form coming from last year's 10+)
  • they did not go to WL last year for 11+ and that may well have resulted in a more cautious approach to offers
More generally, difficulty of exam does not necessarily correlate with difficulty in getting an offer. Emanuel's exam is traditionally quite accessible... this year they have probably increased the percentage required for a straight offer.
Balhamdad11 · 09/02/2024 13:25

We got an offer from Whitgift! Delighted as it was my son's top choice. Waitlist for Emanuel, but definitely happy with our lot.

It was the same when my DC sat 11plus 4 years ago- boys getting into Kings, St P etc and straight no from Emanuel. I suspect Emanuel knows those boys are never going to accept an offer from them.

farfallarocks · 09/02/2024 13:30

Congrats @Balhamdad11

still waiting for other schools here……
@QuiteAJourney thats very true and does slightly question the ethics of accepting the registration fees for 1200 applicants!

DDandelion · 09/02/2024 13:32

Has anyone had a NO or WL from LU yet?

Mintie190 · 09/02/2024 13:33

It’s a relief to have the outcome now but also feeling deflated that DS has a rejection from his top school - Kings. Offers from St Paul’s and Hamptons to be proud of and grateful to have the choice. Logistically Kings would have worked better and he thought the interview went really well but it wasn’t meant to be.

ALongProcess · 09/02/2024 13:33

@Balhamdad11 congratulations!! Did Whitgift arrive by post or email?

BrightEyesMum · 09/02/2024 13:33

SPGS offer as well.!!!!😀

felt like such a long long day

well done to all the DC’s
