@W8alphamum what did you chose in the end?

There seems to be very little WL movement.

@Lolakath19 DD is going to her top choice CLSG. We thought Latymer might be a good alternative since her brother goes there, but she was set on her decision. We are glad that this is over!

Congratulations on your decision, as a WL mum it is hard to read that you had so many offers and it was between CLSG and Latymer, but you only just released all the other offers.

Wishing luck to others on WL. There should be more movement soon as people decide to accept grammars I think and others release any final places.

I have heard that there has been little movement on jags and Alleyn's WL.

We accepted our offer at Alleyn's and pleased that it's all done!

We've declined Emanuel and Whitgift - both very very hard to give up as such lovely schools! @Wondermumof4 - see you and DC at DC!!

Waiting for some of the same schools as you and that is also my experience, if it’s any consolation. Wondering if I should ring (last rang on Friday) or just trust the process…!

Last night, we just declined our Sevenoaks school year 7 offer with an academic scholarship 😩. Call them now to ask about the place. Good luck.

We went for Hampton! I feel much more at peace now that a decision has been made.

DC is two points off for Tiffin though so if an offer materialises, that might be a potential hurdle as we’ll be back to deliberating

Fingers crossed for you. What’s your back-up plan? Unfortunately we don’t really have any good options if WL doesn’t work out. Registered for comps but did not get first option and second option is not an easy commute and in hindsight should not have applied as it would not suit DD. Very gutted and deflated with the whole process.

Where are you based roughly @IndieAnna ? South west?

Same here, we got both tiffin and Hampton. But decided to go with Hampton for better sports.

Just to say crossing fingers for all those on WLs. I really hope offers materialise for you. Hopefully now the noon acceptance deadline has passed, there will be some movement. Thinking of you @IndieAnna and @CocoC and anyone else still waiting

We are luckier in that we do have a Plan B (different kind of school) - but the plan B is also to keep trying for an occasional place (maybe for Y8) in some of the schools we are WL for, and also a couple of others we hadn't thought to apply for in the first place.
I am hoping that in a city like London, there will be movement in the schools, people will go abroad etc, so if we have enough options open, there will be some options...

How does it work with occasional places? Do you have to be on the original WL or can you approach a school not previously applied to at a later point?
