In terms of % how much weighting is placed on the interview, exam and report from previous school when selecting applicants?

They're all different so will depend totally on the school.

This is just completely school dependent, and within schools it can very by entry-stage and boarding vs day.

Totally depends. My daughter has just been given a full scholarship for a private school just based on interview, report from school and references from teachers so didn’t even have to sit an exam. Each school does it differently.

It depends on the school. Perhaps the more academic schools put more weighting on the exams. They also probably have a higher cut off for exam score. Some schools will look at the big picture. So will consider school reports and interview if exam performance wasn’t the best

Wow that's amazing!

Exam's the biggest, but they all matter and they will consider extracurricular stuff like a musical instrument, being very sporty, bilingual etc.

I would say most of the highly selective schools place heavyweight on exam. Interview and reference is to manage broaderline situations, or when the school want to maintain certain diversity level of the cohort.
