Is it the done thing to send a thank you email, following interviews for school entry? Not sure if it's polite or would come across as OTT!

I assume this is for independent school? If so, I don't think there is anything wrong with briefly saying thank you - but anymore than that would be OTT in my view.

Thanks @Potterinthegarden
Yes it's for independent schools. I will keep it short and sweet, but wasn't sure if it was really done...

I would say a brief email would be appropriate (although not expected). To keep from being OTT you could follow up the thanks with something along the lines of "In the event we have further questions, I'll be in touch"- chosing a school should be a discernment process so there's nothing wrong with some toing and froing including thanks for their help etc.
Good luck with your decisions, @Valhalla17

No don't do it! It will be like you're trying to suck up to them! Cringe.

Thanks all, I did send a message...but kept it very short. I didn't want to come across like a suck up..as @saltnvini mentioned 😂

All I can do now is wait for a few weeks, then we'll see what offers come in. Fingers crossed!
