Hello- are there any parents on here who currently have their children at OLA school in Abingdon? It looks like all the teaching staff have been replaced with new teachers, is this a good thing or not? I'm so unsure if this is a good school as it seems to be in constant turmoil. Many thanks.

My son is happy and has coped with the massive staff turnover, we can live with this up to GCSE level. He is bright and able - some teachers good at stretching and challenging him. However after our eldest’s experience of sixth form (see other posts describing the chaos we paid for, as well as the private tuition we felt was necessary to make up for the problems due to staff leaving) I won’t risk it a second time. Great staff have been hired and I am impressed by their commitment, but I worry that they won’t stay long. Leadership team is young and inexperienced and the head is weak. The kids don’t notice this or care, but when you’re the parent paying you do!

D'Overbroecks definitely seemed very suitable for my DC. Although I was actually more impressed by the SEN team at OLA. I liked their focus on ELSA and the fact they have a designated room for this. The head of SEN at D'Overbroecks was new when we went and didn't seem at all confident in what he was talking about.

The SEN team at OLA is very good but over subscribed and be aware you have to pay for all SENCO help on top of fees. Ask for the fees breakdown so you are fully prepared.
