GCSEs finishing in 2024

Not sure where you saw this but it’s absolutely not a thing. Secondary school teacher here. In order to scrap the current system there would need to be a huge overhaul, consultation and something to replace them.

I think the OP means a three for kids who will finish their GCSEs in 2024, not that all GCSEs are stopping!

Have twins at two different schools doing mostly same GCSE the teaching styles could not be more different... And don't start on the he amount of homework 1 of them gets whilst the other gets only optional homework what 14yr old boy would choose to do homework
