School uniform sizes

My 14y/o son is joining a school after the end of half-term in a week - but I've had trouble finding school uniforms that fit him. The school uses a shirt with its logo emblazoned on it, as well as a blazer on top - we have used the school clothing suppliers to order the larger sizes, all of which cannot fit my son unfortunately.

Similarly, we have found that no blazer fits - but the school seemingly permits black blazers, but I've found trouble with getting a blazer that would fit him from any clothing retailer (M&S, H&M etc are all much too small). Would it be worth getting it tailored or should I contact the school about their impossibly-small clothing options?

Thanks.

How big is your son my DS is 14 and 6ft 2in with size 12 shoe and we have no issue getting his uniform which has the logo on it. Only issue we have is the shorts seem to be like hot pants but they let the taller lads wear those cycling shorts underneath. I would email school and ask for suggestions

My son is relatively short but stout (we haven't really had much issue with shoes or trousers as you mentioned).

My husband is on the larger side and has a plain black blazer from jacamo. You might need to contact the school re the shirt and ask is a plain shirt would be acceptable

What is his collar/chest size? I am amazed that they don't stock uniform that fits. Could you not order a blazer that fits around the chest and have the sleeves professionally altered? Or can you buy a second hand school blazer and just lift the logo off and add to one that fits.

I would do anything to avoid him wearing different uniform personally especially when starting a new school.

So can you order the correct chest size and then alter the body and sleeve length?

Have you tried John Lewis? Their plain black school blazer goes up to a 46” chest: https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-boys-school-blazer/black/p384976?size=46

Blazer available in black up to 52” chest.

I know I had to order much bigger size jumpers than the tape measure would suggest. My son is just 15 and about 5 ft 10 and wears Mens medium normally but I had to order 46’’ jumpers to get them big enough. Ridiculous. Made me very cross aa I used their size guide and kept having to pay postage when I had to re order.
