What are your/child's experience of a Harris school? Are you/they happy there?

That's a huge federation of schools. That's a bit like asking does your child attend an academy? How do they find it. Most academies have similar strict ethos.
Harris has schools in all sorts of areas and they're all going to be different.

Having heard bad things from a colleague who used to work in a Harris primary school about what they were like as an employer I initially didn't want to consider them at all. However, on reflection as @Foxesandsquirrels said, each school is different and have their own context, location, ethos, subject choices and focus etc and actually the staffing issues my colleague has were the same you'd find in any school so weren't actually that significant in our decision (I work in a non Harris school myself). Our first choice school ended up being a Harris which was quite different to some of the negative things people have said about them and y8 DD is very happy there. To a certain extent you have to forget preconceptions about the MAT a school belongs to and think about what is important to you (uniform policy, subject choices, SEN support etc) and look at the school as a standalone thing to see if your DC would be happy there.
