Should I be worried about this?

Hi I applied for a school for my son in year 7 which was rated 'good' it didn't have the best reputation in the area but I live in an area where most schools have bad reputations so it was slim pickings. Anyway my sons been there since September and it's now had an Ofsted report come back as requires improvement. If I had known this at the time I wouldn't have applied and actually avoided a school for this reason. Would this worry you? I thought despite it's reputation it's a 'good' school but now thinking the reputation it has is probably right..

I would read the Ofsted report and consider what it says.
Also think about the actual experience your DS has had so far.

OFSTED mofsEd. Means absolutely nothing.

Are there gangs, knives, drugs, rampaging children and fights? Go to pick him up about 10 mins early and watch the children come out. If the staff are on duty and children behaving like children and your son is happy, wait and see.

Wouldn't say my son IS happy and it hasn't been a good start unfortunately so this has made it worse. The report is pretty bad.

Is your son happy at the school & doing well? That’s what’s important surely?
