Not sure if this thread has been started but if not, I would like to share experiences, tips and generally talk about schools and their pros and cons and processes to ease the anxiety and pain for us parents :)

Anyone here doing Alleyns in Jan?

Does anyone know if the exam is in the morning or afternoon or could be either (ie multiple sessions a la Emanuel)?

We've not heard times from Alleyns yet, just confirmation that DS will get adjustments.

Good to see that IPS is more transparent than previously - there was, I think quite a lot of feedback from parents that found their system quite opaque and communications lacking.
I think that sometimes schools forget that the selection process is also an opportunity for them to signal their approach to comms and engagement with families - last year schools like KGS, Emanuel and WHS were really good at keeping in touch and providing information to the parents and, like @swlondon24 says that is really appreciated (and you cannot avoid warming up to them).

i am waiting for that as well, but for the boys school , it says the week of 11th so im guessing from Monday we should find out.
don’t know if it is same for the girls school? Anyway good luck as well.

Just received email for 2nd stage SPGS

Does anyone know how many boys make it to round two for 11+ and 13+ at St Paul’s Boys?

Congrats 👏when was the test ? Ours was Monday 4th.

Not sure but they admit only 36 boys in the end so not a lot.

Ditto, 8th Monday, it appears like the exam is going to take up the whole day.

Sorry i meant my son sat the first stage of st paul’s boys which was ISEB last Monday.

@Wondermumof4 sorry for the confusion, I intended to say SPGS second round on January. Our first round was on 22nd Nov. CLSG first round outcome will be on next Wednesday. Good luck everyone.

Don't worry, it isn't all exams. The day is fun; they get a good lunch and play games/sing/do activities with older girls in between assessments.

Thanks @Brugmansia! DS currently at DC. This is the test that feels like the most of an unknown quantity with it all being a new online format. We'll see this evening I guess. And a nice break now till it all kicks off again in Jan. I think getting DS to do anything else now prep-wise this side of xmas will be an impossible ask!

@minipie I had assumed it would be morning only as that's what I think they've done in the past, but no not heard anything yet

I know the results aren’t due until next week but I jumped a little with the Hampton email that just came through. Roll on next week… cannot wait for 10 Feb when this is all over (hopefully)…

@Brugmansia and @ALongProcess how did your DS find the dulwich exam today ?
my DS is happy about himself finger crossed lets see what comes next … we’ll have to be more patient about that one as wont find out before 15th January.
so happy that it is (almost) over , still IPS part 2 next Thursday then we can breath again until January😅
