DS best friend goes to a different secondary school to DS - his Mum asked me why his school are changing exam boards for GCSE Maths from Edexcel to AQA - I have no idea (!) - I told her to ask the school , she has and they said basically curriculum the sane but we feel that AQA matches the needs of our students ?

I have no idea what this means in reality either but wonders whether AQA had better marks overall ?

It's unusual to change in Y11 and Maths is one subject where this isn't a problem.
I suspect that they have tried some questions from both exam boards on the students and that the pupils did better on the AQA ones.

Weird that she’s asking you 🤣
My son’s achool just changed Maths board. It’s because they’re going through the process of a move into a different MAT, who like to standardise everything across all their schools. Possibly same reason?
