Looking for some advice on the academic drive of Brentwood school.
My son will be sitting the 11+ exams at the end of the year. Brentwood is on our list of schools but I was wondering whether it’s academically competitive to get into on their ISEB testing system?
It didn’t remotely strike me as a ‘hot house’ style school and I loved the focus on art and drama. But his current school are advising me that it will be too academic and that they push kids really hard…which does not chime with what I’ve seen or read online!
My son is solid when it comes to maths and English but I really want him to have a rounded education and creative arts are very important to us. Plus I know that he’d be really miserable in a school that prioritises the academic side over everything else. Can anyone please shed some light? Is is hard to get into if you aren’t an A+ student!?
