Yes, DD has just started in Yr 7, what would you like to know?

Oh wonderful! We are hoping DD will start in Yr7 in 2025. We've just started her 11+ tuition. I know it was downgraded to Good in it's Ofsted this year - which I'm not overly bothered by. I want to know more about the environment. I guess it's a bit early for your DD, but does she find it friendly, inclusive, and supportive? Is it too strict? And finally, how is she coping with the workload?

@MrsJiggs know you're looking at Ripon but re the Good, I'd try not get too hung up on that. We live near a similar school elsewhere in Yorkshire that was rated good recently after consistently being outstanding but I've been in since and it was lovely. So many opportunities and their results in both a-level and GCSE were well above some of the supposedly outstanding schools/colleges in the area.

So glad you're looking at it. It's very early days for DD as they haven't really had any homework yet (it kicks in tonight and is about 1hr a night apparently). It is reasonably strict, but she's actually liking that.

I'll pm you with some more details, but I've found the pastoral support really, really good so far.
