Has anyone got a daughter in Newstead wood school?

My daughter just started and I have noticed in some of her books, that the content taught is very basic and not much is written compared to my other child who is in another school. Then the next lesson, they've moved onto another part of the topic
So I wanted to ask, if students are meant to learn more about the topic at home?

Not a Newstead Wood parent, but looking at the KS3 section under 'Curriculum' on the website, there are documents for each subject detailing the Independent study expectations. Thete is reference to something called 'Learning to Fly', which your DD should be referring to?

Hi, which subject are you referring to? We found a lot of homework, and languages are not that easy. Many words to learn and remember in 3 subjects. It is just 2 weeks, and they recap what they have learned before in math. Some new teachers are good and fun. My girl likes it so far.

I am referring to science. First 2 lessons, info my daughter wrote down is quite basic and 3rd lesson on to another topic so I am assuming they need to learn more in their 90 mins independent studying?
