Accessing Secondary School admissions data

Hi

I'm going through the application for secondary schools but can't find anywhere the link to LEA data on most recent admissions...

Our first choce is close by but just out of catchment

I want to know what is the percentage of pupils that attended the school out of catchment and what are the perimeters on a local map..for the previous years

I've looked all over government websites, school links, everywhere but can't find it - google searches just come up with a website that wants me to pay £25 a month to unlock the data - I'm not doing that ha - shouldn't this information be freely accessible?

Can anyone help?

Where I live it is just on the LA website under 'school admissions'.

Can you phone the school admissions team to ask?

Which local authority is it? I could tell you the answer for mine, but yours may be different.

If you can't find data online you can ask your local authority or the schools for it using a freedom of information request. To do that, either follow the instuctions on the LA's website or use Whatdotheyknow.com.

You can't ask them to create a map if it doesn't already exist, but you can ask for raw data.

It should be on the website this week. I think the deadline for publication is 12th September.
