We have been considering this school for our child and just wanted to see if anyone with children there could provide some insights as to what the school is like.

My child will be the only one from
Their class going if they are successful and would be travelling in from a different borough. One of considerations is how this will pan out from a social perspective.

I would be grateful to hear from others in similar position.

Many thanks

Well I went there but it was 30 odd years ago! I adored it, it was a fantastic school, I know lots of people who have their own DC there and they all rave about it. It is still under the same Headship as when I went.

One of DD2s friends transferred there recently as she moved from our borough to there and DD said she is loving it.

ILookAtTheFloor · 07/09/2023 18:15

I can't believe the Head is still there from when I was secondary age! I didn't go there as for my year group they changed the admissions criteria -- my primary school was a feeder until they changed it, to take in more Waltham Abbey area and less from Redbridge. I went to a girl's Catholic school in Redbridge, if that's an option for you? It still has a great reputation.

That said, if I lived in the area I would happily send my children to Trinity.

another one here who lived in Redbridge at that time and went to a “Girls Catholic School in Redbridge”. serviam, darlings?

Ps I can’t believe Dr D is still there.

UncomfortableSilence · 07/09/2023 21:20

Dr D must have been a lot younger than I thought he was when I was there! I know quite a few of his children went on to teach there.

BeachHutLife · 07/09/2023 21:36

Dh went there over 35 years ago. He said Dr D is a very accomplished author too.

Many thanks for your response. You're definitely a wonderful advocate' Do you know what their six form is like? I heard it's not great.

The girls school is not an option as I have a boy! Thank you for the response just the same!

I went to TCHS.
Great school.
Headmaster has been there 30 years odd.
Robust senior leadership, quite a few teachers still there and I left in 2002.
Split between upper and lower site. Year 7 to 10 at Sydney Road
Year 11 to upper sixth at Mornington Road.
Robust Catholic teachings.
All in all, I had a fantastic experience there, it regularly surpasses excellent ratings in Ofsted also.

Pastarasta1 · 08/09/2023 13:37

I also stayed until 6th form.
Can't say I found it anything but fantastic..they open it up to all faiths also so it's very diverse.

UncomfortableSilence · 08/09/2023 17:46

I did stay on for sixth form and again I was very happy there but as I said it was a very long time ago, why don't you give them a call to arrange a viewing.

Dancingbea · 15/09/2023 07:32

Children travel in from quite far to attend trinity anyway because of the way the catholic catchments fall so they wouldn’t be the odd one out at all. Lots of positives about the school.

Thank you for your feedback. Just hoping that if he does get accepted that he makes good friendships.

I used to travel from holloway road n7. It is a great school
However i had dlyexia and it was never noticed. They cocnentrate more on getting grades they are not good with children who may struggle. Its isolation isolation.
But the teaching is brilliant there morals are brilliant
