Shoes for PE? - Year 7

DS has just started Year 7 and I have realised I don't have sneakers for him apart from the sort to wear out for a walk or shopping etc. What type of general shoes do boys wear for PE in year 7, not football boots or anything, just normal all round shoes.
He's a size 41 /42 so won't fit into kids sizes anymore.
Any advice on brands or styles really appreciated!

We've got a pair of adidas trainers. They have to be no mark soles, school rules.

My DS just wore cheap trainers from Primark. If they are into sports and will get more use out of them then possibly worth spending more but they did fine for a couple of hours a week.

Just regular trainers. I would avoid the cheapest brands due to possible teasing - go for Nike or Adidas. Can find them fairly cheaply if you shop around.

Plainish black Nike or Adidas, Sports Direct is your best bet, even though it's not the most fun of shops!

I'd go to sports direct or similar if you can bear it. My dd had the same black Nikes every time. Not the exact pair, the same style.

Sports direct Nike trainers. The black ones with white tick. He'll know what he wants once those wear out.
