To those with boys starting secondary school this September can I ask what school shoes you have bought? I’ve looked at kickers but the reviews are terrible and he isn’t allowed to wear trainers. Can I ask what others have bought?

These Next shoes have been great. They slip on (so no laces to come undone) but still look more grown up. While some Y7 boys still had velcro shoes at DS’s school, I think it looks a bit babyish at that age, so these are a nice compromise. DS started wearing them in Y3, so they work for active boys.

My year 7 has really wide feet, clarks etc have been too narrow, now he is in adult size 6 extra wide shoes from pavers, which is working well. Good luck everyone with next week! I am starting to get myself organised, at least about what he needs to take in, I bought everything a little while ago, just need to remind myself.
