Hi I’m considering this sixth form for my DS for 2024 entry. I can see the results online so not concerned about those. Would like to hear any experiences of the 6th form at St Chris’ in terms of teaching, pastoral and peers.

I think people slag the school off because it is different. DD’s friend is autistic and her Mum was grateful for no school uniform as she had sensory issues. They like to get the best out of everyone, and seem to succeed. It’s not a hothouse - they like to educate the whole child and I think children do well there. One of DD’s friends went to Oxford, another to RADA, and others at a range of places in between. The children seemed to me to be happy, polite and confident, but not in that nauseating public school way. The house parents are absolutely lovely and DD still visits them regularly.

I agree with the above. People see it as ‘weird’ or as a special needs school purely because the kids can be themselves. They cater very well for the brighter kids as well and it’s an all round great education. In all honestly I know 3 children with additional needs who have recently been turned away due to the fact they can’t cater to too many children all needing a lot of help

The school is definitely really good at helping lots of dc with SEND, which is a big plus. They just have have to be realistic about what they can undertake. They seem to do a good job with a wide range of dc in giving them a rounded education and a great experience of being at school.
