School bag & PE bag for Year 7 DS?

Any ideas what size and type of bag is cool (or at least not uncool) for a year 7 boy? Any tips?

At my DC school, they use a boot bag (black, Nike or Adidas or similar) & squeeze as much PE kit in as possible, put the rest in their school bag.

Plain black Nike bag is what almost everyone has here. And then PE kit just gets stuffed in with everything else!

Hiya, I am looking for a good sturdy school bag for my 10 year old son, preferably with a bottle pocket on the side, any recommendations?

lots of colours and sizes, really well made, and for a great cause.

My son in y7 has a black O’Neill backpack and a navy puma hold-all for PE. We checked with his older sister who said they passed the nerd test 😅

At our school the main message is they are not fussed about brands. Black is best for a boy, everything else is a detail.

Mine wanted small barrel bags for PE but I think the boot carrier idea posted above would have gone down a storm.

Mine has had a plain black Osprey rucksac all through secondary school, and it has lasted really well, is waterproof, and pe kit just got stuffed in there with a boot bag

Big black sports ruck sack. Sports kit just gets shoved in unless he has to take boots in which case he takes a PE type draw string bag, but he rides a bike to school so not a lot else would work.

Boys at my school have a black backpack. Brands like Nike, Adidas, Berghaus, Montane etc. Then they either stuff PE kit in or use a draw string carrier bag. JD is popular with yr7.
