Sir William Perkins's School

Sir William Perkins's School is not worth paying the yearly school fees. My child spent a very short time of her school life at the school before we decided to take her out. Many things that were of concern were brought to our attention at a very early stage.

I would urge you to read a few reviews before considering applying and paying for the school - not just from mum's net. Neither the governing body nor the head has your daughter's best interest at heart. For them it is your £20,000 that is the most important and as soon as they have the money, you feel that you can't let go. The school will do more mental health damage to your daughter than any good - luckily we got out of there very quickly but my daughter is still finding it difficult to process what has happened to her there and I would like to save you the headache and heart break.

One lesson I've learnt, albeit a bit too late, is to use the internet to read reviews, ask questions and most importantly, go with your 6th sense.

My daughter attends SWPS and to be honest we have been quite disappointed as are many parents in our year group, with the way things are run at the school. The head of year 7 was awful and frankly has no emotional intelligence when supporting friendship issues. The approach is awful, we couldn't escalate our concerns anywhere as no one in the SLT was interested in hearing our concerns. I'm hoping things will improve with the new headteacher but we only have a year left so no point moving her now.,We have promised her she doesn't have to stay there for sixth form!
