DS is finishing year 4 and I want to start going to open days over autumn and keen for a bit of guidance to help me narrow things down. Is the good schools guide any good as a starting point? And does anyone know what time of year it gets refreshed?
Im in north London and will probably look for an independent school as I have a preference for something that doesn’t seem available locally.
DS is really bright eg just got exceeding expectations across the board in his school report (with no tutoring or pressure) but wouldn’t suit a high pressure school and the prepping required for 11+. I want to give him space to do well academically with strong pastoral care, a mixed sex and diverse cohort. No hot housing but good discipline (but not silly rules discipline just calm classrooms). I think I’ll start another thread for recommendations too!
