Waitlist and Appeals

Hi,
Would someone please explain to me what happens re waitlist and appeals.
Short story is we have been on the waitlist for our preferred secondary school, for the last 3 weeks we have seen no movement ( we have had quite a lot up until now) even though I know of places being declined etc.
I also know that someone had an appeal
upheld this week.
Does this impact the waitlist? I thought that if an appeal was upheld then it would be an extra place rather than a pan place? Or am I wrong? X

If someone is admitted on appeal, they must be admitted even if it takes numbers over PAN

But offers can only be made from the waiting list when the number falls under PAN.

So say PAN 120, 4 admitted on appeal, they must operate at 124, and cannot admit more from the WL unless numbers fall to 119

That makes sense. Grrrr so frustrating, we were moving so close and then bam nothing for weeks!!

In some areas there is alot of movement in others like mine there isnt as the schools in our area are oversubscribed each year. I think there might be some movement around the transition days coming up next week if your preferred School does not have teachers striking. Goodluck.
