Wallingford School catchment question

I’m interested in hearing if anyone on here applied for Wallingford from just outside the catchment area, and if they got a place or did they have to appeal? We’re about a quarter of a mile from the boundary and it’s actually nearer than the alternative that is our catchment school.

shows how places were allocated this year; 5 children got in by distance alone, outside of catchment/feeder schools (category 7), max distance 3.7miles

In the previous couple of years more than that did -
Wallingford School | Oxfordshire County Council

it seems 37 did in 2022 and 27 in 2021.
